Moria
We are on the Fellowship of the Rings Tour
Tour created by D.J. on Jan. 5, 1997
Shire -> Bree -> Weathertop -> Rivendell -> Caradhras -> Moria -> Lothlorien -> Conclusion
Don't throw anything into this stagnant pool of black water coming up on our left. It still contains an evil octopus-like monster which attacked the Company. It grabbed a hold of Frodo, but Sam fortunately stabbed the tentacle and Frodo was saved. It still gives me the creeps. Does anyone know elven here? You there, ma'am, please say loudly the elven word for "friend." Wow look at that door vibrate. Here we go. The Company decided to let Bill the pony free at this point. Turning on illumination. As we go through this cave, notice the deep crevaces, we would have had to jump across, had we been walking. These were troublesome for the Company; they were always wary and expectant of danger. The passage on our left leads to the cavern the Company stayed in the first night of their stay in Moria. Up ahead we have a hall with 4 passages, one in each direction. Now I'm turning off illumination so you can see the wondrous light which seeps through from above. The Company never actually was able to see this light until they exitted the cave because of an orc raid. The doom, doom of the drums, when they were visiting the tomb of Balin, which is on our right, signalled that orcs were coming. We are now entering the room of Balin's tomb. In this room, the Company fought the orcs and when they retreated Gandalf attempted to seal the door. Suddenly the evil Balrog blasted through it overpowering Gandalf, who fled down this flight of stairs to join the Company that was waiting at the bottom. Here's the bridge of Khazad-dûm which was where Gandalf faced the Balrog and the Company escaped. Gandalf zapped the bridge where the Balrog stood, but as it was falling into the dank pit, it grabbed onto Gandalf and that's the last we've heard of him (for this book). What a way to go. Get ready for sunlight! We're about to exit Moria.
