Subject: Nintendo help

Hi my name's Steve. I have a daughter 5 years old that is trying to get me to help her win Super Mario Bros. 3 on the first generation Nintendo machine. Please help me if you can beat this confounded game so she will let me have a life! I'm too stupid to find any of the warps or short cuts ( but have found coins ) and get beat real bad on the second level at the pyramid.

Please help me if you can.

Steve ( big richie )

I don't have Super Mario 3, but I do have Super Mario All-Stars for SNES which is the same game, but improved. I haven't played SMB3 for a while so I don't remember very many tactics, but I'll get back to you as soon as I can with hopefully some answers. Good luck in the mean time. :-)

Thanks for the responding so soon! Can't find the old Nintendo Power mags that old.

Look forward from hearing from you in the future!

Steve

Sorry for the delay, but it has given me time to research SMB3 a little. In the pyramid world; the first level is cut and dry. If you understand the patterns of the mini-goombas in blocks, all you have to do is run most of the way clear to the exit. Note that there are some power blocks like the leaf in the blocks around the pipe structures. Also, there's a pipe in the aire that's blocked by blocks. You can get in with the racoon tail by breaking the blocks while flying. Recall how to fly.
Some general tips for the game are the magic flutes. With these flutes you can warp forward in the game. In level 3 or 4 of the first world you can obtain a flute by standing and pressing down on one of the last blocks and running (and perhaps flying) to the end of the level (behind the scenery). This enables you to get one whistle. Then in the end castle of World 1 you can get to the end of the first part of the castle and instead of going in the door, fly up above the ceiling to get yet another flute. In world 2 after the mini-boss, there is a rock and some hammer Bros. If you beat the hammer brothers and get the hammer and then crush the rock, I beleive on the other side exists a flute.
Well, good luck. I hope I have been of some assistance.

Hello,

I have recently began playing the very first edition of Nintendo's Ultima (yes, the one on the 8-bit NES). I am stuck and I was hoping you, or any long-tiem RPG player help. What I need to know is how do you bribe and where is the lost sword located. If you can help, please e-mail me at:

Sincerely,

Dhan, the Wandering Prince

I've never played Ultima. Is it good? If it's good enough, I'll buy it as cheap as I can get it for at K B Toys or something. I have all the issues of Nintendo Power; Eventually I'll look up some stuff and give you as much of a hand as possible. I have Ultima: Runes of Virtue for SNES, which I haven't played very much. Thanks for your inquiry.

Well, I checked my Nintendo Powers, but they never went into that much depth on Ultima. All I can say is that one who persists is triumphant and building experience is key. Good luck, and I'm putting our little email conversation on my web page so people who know the answer to your questions can email you with an answer. Happy gaming ;-)

Thank you for your help. I had given up on Ultima, but I will probably try to beat it one day. I did, however, finish SNES's Breath of Fire II. I had already beat the first BoF and I just wanted to go ahead and put the second one under my belt. I hope someone answers the question about Ultima.

dhan.

p.s. have you heard about any good RPG's for the N64 and how do you "raise the priority of the e-mail?"

Good luck with your endeavors with Ultima! Congratulations with your beating Breath of Fire I and II. I'm currently working on BOTH, beleive it or not. I'm sure I'll beat them some day. I was stuck on BoF I for a long time on the "spinning" crystal temple with Mote at the end but I finally got to the end of it. I'm also doing well on BoF II: I'm about to get the Frog Prince. I also hope someone answers your question. You may want to try a New Group. They're supposed to be excellent. RPG's for N64: Earth Bound 64 (Mother III), Wonder Project J2, Zelda 64. Also check out Harvest Moon for SNES. I can't wait to get that one. To raise the priority of a message (in Eudora) click and hold on the box with a shadow in the upper-left hand corner of the window of your email message and choose one of the higher priorities (either High or Highest). I'm not sure that all mail applications can handle chaning the priority, but I THINK that NetScape can also. Good luck and Happy RPGing ;-)

>I have killed lech got my earth orb shining but i cannot find my airship or the floater stone, please help me! I am going nuts.

After you shine the earth orb, you go around the world in your boat to crescent island. There you can obtain the canoe by talking to the elders in clockwise fashion. Then you can get the floater stone from the ice cave with which you raise the airship. I hope this helps and good luck.

>Thank you you have saved my sanity.I now have the canoe and the floater when I got the game it had no instructions so i have just started playing. its cool thanks again.

No Problem. If you get stuck, send an email :-)
