Video Games (&Nintendo)

I've been a faithful fan to Nintendo for many years. I got a Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986. I accumulated 49 Nintendo Games. I have at least 30 SNES games and half as many Game Boy games. I got a Nintendo 64 for my 17th birthday. I had the hardest time trying to find it though. I called 10 different stores for a month until finally Lechmere's got some in stock.
My favorite type of video game is RPG, Role-Playing Game, which involves an intricate, non-linear and longlasting game. SquareSoft is my favorite producer of RPGs and I have been consistant and dogmatic about getting every single one of their games. Since they didn't put Final Fantasy 7 out for Nintendo 64, I was forced to play PlayStation. My brother got a PlayStation and Final Fantasy 7 for Christmas about a year after getting N64. Depite the slow load times, the graphics and sound are good enough to compensate. I have gotten all of their games (RPG and continental) up to date (3/15/99) ranging from Final Fantasy to Chrono Trigger, from Final Fantasy 3 to Super Mario RPG (SS helped) and plan on continuing. Of course I'm lacking lately; I don't have Parasite Eve, but that's it. I don't have Einhander, but that's a shooter. I'm currently working my way through Xeno Gears and am working on a Final Fantasy Tactics Webpage, for which I have a lot of work left to do. Although N64 hasn't had any notable RPGs as of yet (6/21/98), keep an eye out for Zelda 64, Earthbound 64, and Quest 64! Since there is a good amount of raving on these pages about PlayStation things, I had to change this page from Ninteno to Video Games.

I've played several games in my time and have most of the issues of Nintendo Power so if you have any questions or problems on a game feel free to email me. However, I am busy and can't always get around to posting the emails. I probably won't find time to look up the answer in Nintendo Power. I shall be as helpful as possible to the best of my ability. Please note that I take our conversation and put it on the help web page for the general public. That way people can have their own questions answered and they can give you an answer if I couldn't give you one. Well, good luck and happy gaming :-).
Check out Gamedude. It's a place where you can buy and sell old games for any system. Don't ask for my games; I prize them and am unwilling to trade/sell them.

Recognize this scene? It's the canal in Final Fantasy (NES). Note that the icon is the airship (w/o a shadow) and that the canal isn't blown up. What??!??! How is that possible, you ask? It's actually not: an error occured in the game so that my overworld character's icon is a shadowless airship which can travel over any terrain and still runs into monsters! I sent this with my Player's Pulse letter to Nintendo Power.

Pokemon (poh-kay-mon)
There is currently an intense Pokemon craze! Game Boy, Anime, Trading Cards, Stuffed Animals, Manga, and much more merchandizing has gone into the Pokemon market! I've got 2 posters, about 100 cards, the first tape, recordings of most of the TV eps, a big Pikachuu that squeeks when you shake it, and a small Pikachuu and can "popplize" into a pokeball. And of course I have a Pikachuu sound for one of my system functions :). Quite cool!! What got me hooked was when I heard about the anime that gave people seizures in Japan. When I figured out that that show was called Pocket Monsters, I had to see it! It's been a lot of fun. Although it's on the childish side, there are a lot of funny and cute parts. For example, the 17th episode, called Island of the Giant Pokemon, half the episode had the Pokemon separated from their masters and they were talking to each other and there were subtitles!!! It was really funny! It was disappointing to have them starting the series over before finishing it about 3 times, but luckily, WB has started showing new episodes weekly, so don't miss them!
