Magic
My account of Magic: the Gathering

History

I started playing Magic when I became a freshman in high school. My friend, Martin, got into it and wanted me to start. He was willing to give me cards to help me start my decks. I learned quickly, but at first I thought it was too expensive. I was right, but realized that it was fun for the money. I was quickly addicted to the mystic card game and got lots of cards for presents! I traded and played with Martin and several other people. In Boy Scouts I was able to induct several new cubs whose interest peaked to a game of Magic.
I must have over a thousand cards and 25 decks! My best deck creations: all artifact w/ fireballs, black, red/green, blue/white, and several other infamous combinations!
For the first three years of playing Magic I always learned something new. One very picky rule is that you can't tap a creature unless you owned him/her since the beginning of your turn. Another interesting rule is the difference between sorceries and instants; sorcories can't be played during the opponent's turn.

This picture shows some people I know playing Magic on a Boy Scout Trip.
This game is being played in a cabin next to a frozen lake. David Gombosi, Evan Patey, and others are in the picture. Some of the cards I can recognize are Bottomless Vault, Island, Dwarven Stronghold, and Mill Stone. I did not actually take this picture.
